.NAME Domain Name Registrations

Started in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain extension is the only one planned for personal websites only. These domain names can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. At first, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to purchase john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our firm, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to correct the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registration provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. There are no special conditions on who can register a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
